About Jane

JANE RAGSDALE

C. Jane Ragsdale spent more than 50 years shaping lives as the director and co-owner of Heart O’ the Hills Camp for Girls. A proud alumna of Texas Woman’s University, she dedicated her life to empowering young women, mentoring leaders, and building a camp community rooted in character and connection.

Her love extended beyond the Guadalupe River, from guiding campers in Texas to serving communities in Guatemala. Jane was tragically lost in the July 4, 2025 Kerr County flood, but her spirit endures through the work of the Foundation—inspired by Jane, powered by heart.

  • Charitable Causes for Young Women — Supporting organizations that build courage, confidence, and character in girls and young women.

  • Training & Youth Programs — Contributing to programs such as American Red Cross certifications for camp staff and youth leaders.

  • Humanitarian Work in Central America — Continuing Jane’s service through Habitat para la Humanidad Guatemala (Let Hope Begin Here Guatemala).

  • Camp Restoration — Supporting the possible relocation/rebuilding efforts of Heart O’ the Hills Camp following the devastating July 2025 flood and replenishing lost camp inventory, equipment, and furniture.
